Skills at CTP

As the global systems upon which we depend for food, transportation, medicine and communication are becoming uncertain, a new culture of self-sufficiency is emerging. People of all walks of life are learning the traditional skills needed to provide for their necessities. This reskilling process is forward looking, insofar as it prepares for a radically different future; and it is historical, insofar as it involves a return to the knowledge and lifestyles of previous generations.

Residents at CTP are engaged in building the resilience of our community through cultivating skill sets associated with growing and preserving food for year-round consumption. Looking forward, residents are planting fruit trees and medicinal and other herbs. Other skill sets cultivated at CTP community include home renovation, bicycle repair, plumbing, group process, writing, pottery, permaculture gardening and many more.
